Recycling program efficiently processes 1M lbs. a month into post-consumer recycled resin.

Introduction

In 2017, a large film converter in the Southeast U.S., entered into an agreement with The BlueCON Company®.

Challenge

The company’s major concerns were brand awareness and landfill diversion. If their waste continued to enter the recycling industry in a roll format, it could potentially be used for the packaging of inferior products.

Solution

The BlueCON Company® aligned their customer’s sustainability initiatives to a robust landfill diversion, destruction, and recycling program. This program enabled the processing of 1M lb. of film waste monthly into BlueCON® post-consumer recycled resin. The BlueCON Company® invested in state-of-the-art equipment which insured secure destruction as well as an efficient and safe process.

Result

Since 2017, with the assistance of The BlueCON Company®, they have diverted waste from the landfill, reduced landfill cost and space, as well as protected their customer’s brand identity.

  • Since inception, 35 Million lbs. of material diverted from landfills

  • $1 Million saved in landfill costs

  • 525,000 cubic yards of landfill space saved

This project is the ideal example of how businesses can collaborate to align sustainability initiatives and protect brand identity.
